MITHRAIC LEONTOCEPHALOUS
KRONOS
Bas-relief of white
marble. Naked to the waist; the limbs clothed in wide trousers; the arms
extended; and in each hand a torch. From the back four wings issue, two
pointing upwards and two downwards, and around each is a serpent. Before
the god is a circular burning altar, and from his mouth a band representing
his breath extends to the fire of the altar.
