Often people say they receive messages from famous religious figures such as Archangel Michael or Kwan Yin. Some people say they receive messages from people who have lived in the past, such as Ramtha or Abraham Lincoln. Others claim they are receiving messages from entities in places beyond our solar system, like the Pleaides. The variety of messages and sources can be mind-boggling at times.

 I have communicated with unseen energies since I was a small child. I took it as a natural state of my beingness and thought little about it, though I realized at a very young age that the people around me were unaware of these energies. So I just didn’t talk about it; it was a private thing between me and Spirit.

 When I became an adult and came into contact with people who were aware of these energies, I was often asked "Who is your guide; who do you channel?" I had never thought of asking for names. So I asked. The reply was, "You may call us whatever you wish." I asked why they would not give me names. I was told, "Names have a specific resonance, they will attract specific energies...when you ask a question of Spirit without attaching a name to it, you allow the energy of the question to find the appropriate answer. To "name" where the answer must come from can lead to distortion of the answer because of you setting a limitation on its source." That was good enough for me; I’ve never bothered with it since. Whatever question I have I just project through thought to Spirit, and I get an answer; I say thank you, and that is that. People ask, "Well, how can you know that it is true, or good?" The foremost way is because whatever I have received has always proved to be true. The only time there is any distortion is when I attempt to interpret what I have received or add to it. As far as "goodness" goes, or the spirit being of the "Light"...there is no question here for me. I am of the Light; therefore it is the only thing I relate to. Nothing has more power than the Light; therefore I am not afraid. Fear attracts negative energies because it gives them power. This is not blind faith; this is practical understanding. I have been exposed to negative energies/entities; wherever I perceive such an energy, I recognize it and think, "oh, that is negative" and move on. It is very simple, really.

 People experience specific energies such as Archangel Michael because that is what their consciousness will accept. The more open one’s consciousness, the more abstract the entity or source of energy will be; and the less will be the anthropomorphization. Much of what people say they channel is actually from their own "higher self"....it may appear to them as another entity because that is how they can accept the information. This is fine. Usually this changes over time as a person becomes more aware of their own indwelling Spirit...less and less of the information seems to come from an external source, but rather, an internal source is recognized.

 Remember that the unseen dimensions of Spirit will be perceived through your personality. If you are a distrustful, negative or paranoid person, you will experience untrustworthy and negative entities. If you are a confident, positive, stable person, the experiences you have will also be positive. Therefore, as with all areas of metaphysics, the first place to work is within your own personality. If you want to channel, first become a stable, loving, confident and positive human being. Unseen entities will not do the work for you; they are advisors and guides only. The responsibility for your attitudes, experience, and Spiritual growth is always yours.
